Agenda-1: Activities Report-2024
1) CGR carried out a comprehensive study on irregular migration and illegal immigration from Pakistan to Malaysia for the Australian High Commission Islamabad during the first half of 2024.
2) Director CGR and some other members participated online in the following Constructive Dialogues on UNTOC Review Process in Vienna during 2024: CD on Firearms; CD on International Cooperation and Technical Assistance; CD on TIP; and CD on SOM.
3) CGR and CFHR coordinated to draft a Civil Society Declaration on the UNTOC Review Process on behalf of the Vianna-based Board of the Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
4) Director CGR Tariq Khosa and UNTOC National Focal Person Ehsan Sadiq physically participated in the UNTOC Conference of Parties in Vienna in October 2024 and played an active role in relevant side events.
5) CGR, in collaboration with CFHR, organised the first-ever International Day against Transnational organised Crime in Lahore Pakistan on 15 November 2024. There was a very active participation, both in-person and online, at the international event. A special report was released about this milestone achieved.

Activities undertaken so far and planned further for 2025
1) The first-ever Annual Digest on Organised Crime for the year 2024 was released in March 2024.
2) Annual Pakistan UNTOC Review Mechanism Report for 2024, on behalf of the civil society was released in March 2024.
3) CGR-NIOC plans to work on developing a National Strategy against Organised Crime in Pakistan, in collaboration with the UNODC.
4) CGR plans to be co-applicant with CFHR, in a bid for EU-funded Project on Human Rights and the CJS of Pakistan.
5) CGR and CFHR are actively supporting the recently launched UNODC Initiative related to Asia Regional Civil Society Network, comprising 11 countries of South Asia and Southeast Asia, along with more than 40 founding members that participated in a meeting in Malaysia in January 2024. The UNODC Civil Society Unit is actively supporting this initiative. One meeting of the Steering Committee was held in March 2024. Director CGR Tariq Khosa was nominated as the Strategic Advisor for this initiative.
6) CGR-NIOC would like to expand the present 50-member Network of Experts dealing with OC in Pakistan. Efforts in this regard will be made to enlist more professionals who can make a difference to promote the mandate under Pakistan’s Pilot Initiative on UNTOC Implementation.
7) More Position Papers and Policy Briefs will be produced during the year to tackle the challenges arising out of militancy, terrorism, extremism, SOM, TIP, and cybercrime.
